Note From The Founder

Elaine Ball, our CEO started her career breaking [training] horses in Tomball, Texas, USA – until her dad, Steve, managed to persuade her to keep horses as a hobby! In 1998, she accepted the position of Marketing Executive in the family business – Measurement Devices Ltd (MDL).

Elaine has now racked up 25 years of international sales and marketing experience in laser measurement tools, working with everyone from surveyors to resellers across the globe. 

During her time at MDL, she was constantly on the hunt for talented people to join her team, in an effort to avoid the ‘family bubble’, i.e. you only know what you know! Finding the right people was always a challenge for Elaine – often spending more time teaching the consultant about the industry than getting the help she needed. 

And that’s how EBL was born. Because sometimes, if you want something done right, you have to create it yourself!

Q: How long does it take to see results?

A: Survey firms often see improvements in efficiency and growth within a few months of implementation.

Q: Do I need marketing experience to benefit from GMA?

A: No marketing experience is necessary. GMA’s tools are built for professionals with no prior experience required.

Q: Do I have to follow the curriculum?

A: We recommend starting with foundations, Module 4 and Module 8 to get things moving.  Module 1 is a must because it sets the foundations for your marketing to do well. 

Q: What if I need extra help?

A: We hold a 1 hour Q&A, twice a week, to ask any specific questions, and if you want any additional or private assistance you can book blocks of consultancy time with Elaine (£250 for 3 sessions – approx 40 mins each)

Q: How much time do I need to invest to do this?

A: We recommend 90 minutes, 3 times a week, however, we know the day job gets in the way. Think of it this way; the more investment you put into working ‘on’ the business, the sooner you’ll start seeing results. At the start of GMA, we recommend the modules to get started with. If you purchase the lifetime access, you can dive in and out when you feel like it. But remember – if you want the course to really work, it’s discipline, determination and consistency.

Q: Is The Academy for beginners or advanced personnel?

A: Both. It is for someone who has no experience in marketing or selling and no experience in working within Geospatial or Survey.

No experience in marketing: The Academy is set out to start with the foundations of business and why you need to do certain tasks to give your marketing the best results ie. leads, revenue flow. We explain terms; both Industry and Marketing

For Advanced Marketers: You may be advanced in marketing but don’t get the Industry “yet” – The Academy helps you by showcasing practical tactics with industry and market related case studies, so you can see how something works.
